Aleda

Aleda (meaning "winged"), hatched in 2010 and is a female American kestrel. She came to the American Eagle Foundation from the Medina Raptor Center in January of 2011.
The American kestrel, or Sparrow Hawk as it is sometimes called, is the smallest Falcon in the United States. The females are slightly larger with reddish-brown wings and the males have bluish-gray wings.
Aleda has been human imprinted and as such has been deemed non-releasable. She is now in training at AEF and can be seen this season at the “Wings of America” birds of prey show at Dollywood Entertainment Park in Pigeon Forge, TN.
